Community Buildings & V2X

Our community buildings are the heart of our neighbourhoods, and now, they can be even more powerful with the integration of battery storage on vehicles for their renewables. We can reduce energy bills and offer backup power during power cuts for our resilience centres, where residents can find comfort in a hot drink and charge their devices thanks to the power of a car battery. Let’s not forget about providing EV charge points for villages that have been overlooked by most operators, ensuring that no community is left behind.

The RER project will be deploying a range of different V2X charging points across the project.

Hangar19 AC-Bi-directional Charger

This unique charger enables bi-directional charging using the AC-V2X functionality. The design incorporates all aspects of grid synchronisation, allowing the sites to enjoy the benefits of the energy optimisation through the building, access to grid services and even vehicle-to-vehicle charging where there is an urgent need for particular vehicles to be charged when energy availability is limited.

Nichicon

The Nichicon 6 kW DC V2G unit is a single-phase bi-directional chargepoint that draws or supplies 26A. It utilises the ChaDeMo protocol, offering bi-directional charging opportunities for compatible Nissan and Mitsubishi vehicles.

ENovates

The eNovates 10 kW DC V2G unit. This is a 3-phase bi-directional chargepoint that draws or supplies 16A per phase. This also uses the ChaDeMo protocol, offering bi-directional charging opportunities for compatible Nissan and Mitsubishi vehicles.
